“Let’s clean the Carbon Imprint”
“Hoyor Zagal” Green Project
In the last few years, “Hoyor Zagal” base camp area in Rashaant sum of the Bulgan province has faced natural negative factors such as global warming, climate change, aridity and indirect influence of pasturage that causes soil erosion, sand movement and dust storms. Therefore, there is a considerable necessity to organize horticulture and cultivate lawns in the camp area. Also effort from everyone is required to reduce CO2 created by human activity. Therefore, we would like to kindly ask you to volunteer in this project.
It is important that we grow trees and bushes that can absorb CO2 in order to stop soil erosion and sand movement of the area, and to support the “1 tourist – 1 tree” project initiated by the Mongolian goverment.
Tourists traveling with our company may donate funds to buy trees and bushes to be planted in “Hoyor Zagal” camp area.
This way tourists will be assisting in decreasing the amount of CO2 created from flights to and from Ulaanbaatar and will be awarded an “Eco Tourist” certificate.
Commencing May 2009 for the purpose of growing more than 7000 trees and bushes over five years.
1. According to calculations in Table 1 & 2 below, tourists choose their trees to plant and make the payment to Juulchin World Tours Corporation.
2. JWT will buy the plants and be responsible for cultivating and nursing these trees and bushes in the “Hoyor Zagal” camp area.If request comes before June 25, the trees will be planted the following fall. If the request comes after October 20, the trees will be planted the following spring.
3. The tourists who participate in this project will be awarded an “Eco Tourist” certificate and JWT will report annual results and process of the project via its website.
4. Travelers who visit Mongolia between 20 April and 25 June, or between 20 September and 20 October, may themselves go to “Hoyor Zagal” base camp to plant their tree.
